Nigeria closes all borders ahead of Presidential election

According to a statement released and signed by the Ministry of Interior Affairs' permanent secretary, Abubakar Magaji, all land and sea borders will now be closed ahead of Saturday's presidential elections.

The closure takes effect from midnight today Wednesday March 25, to midnight Saturday, March 28. The statement says the closure is "to allow for the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming national election". A directive has been given to the Immigration service to ensure that non Nigerians do not participate in the elections. See the letter above.
