PICS: Welcome to the London(sorry, Ibom) International Stadium

This has been the talk of town for days now and this magnificient edifice is right here in Nigeria. Not even in Lagos or Abuja, but in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state! Can you beat that? Above is a picture of the stadium at night and you'd agree it looks like a place in the London or any other part of the developed world. Continue to read for more pics...

Aptly nicknamed the Nest of Champions, the stadium was commissioned yesterday with a friendly match between Nigeria and Ghana.

The truly amazing sporting edifice is an Olympic Sized stadium which is a 30,000 capacity ultra modern complex that is already regarded as the best in the West African region and compared with South Africa's Soccer city.

Modelled after the Allianz Arena in Germany, the home ground of reigning German Champions Bayern Munich, the Stadium boasts 4 -tier, covered, seating terrace,  all-natural grass, high-tech floodlights and security cameras, 36 emergency exits, bullet proof VVIP and VIP along with other ultra-modern facilities.
