The Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi rained insults on Nollywood practitioners who were present at the Best of Nollywood Awards held last night in Port Harcourt.

During his speech, Amaechi reportedly said that people in Nollywood are 'products of circumstances/necessity', and that they joined Nollywood because they couldn't find another jobs.

He also insulted Joke Silva and Kate Henshaw by telling the crowd that he gave them bags of money whenever they come to Rivers state, also with claims that he was the one who encouraged Kate Henshaw to go into politics.

Like that wasn't enough, Governor Amaechi then said he went into politics for money.

Nollywood veterans present when he said this include Liz Benson, Kenneth Okonkwo, Shola Sobowale, Desmond Elliot, Moses Inwang, Dickson Iroegbu, Bob-manuel Udokwu, Patience Ozokwor, Elvis Chuks, AY, Iyabo Ojo, Emem Isong and many others.

Some of the Nollywood practitioners are said to be really angry about this hot slap on their faces by the governor. They've reportedly warned the adminstration of Actor's Guild of Nigeria (AGN) not to allow such incident happen again.
